Pastor Jacob’s Bio

Pastor Jacob Lancaster grew up as the child of a United Methodist pastor and spent some of his early life in different places across central North Carolina. But he calls Albemarle, NC his hometown where he lived before attending High Point University and then completing his Master of Divinity degree at Duke Divinity School. He started as pastor at St. Matthews in July of 2023. Personally, Jacob likes to play drums and is a huge U2 fan. His favorite place to eat in Morganton is Asian Fusion Kitchen, a place he eats at sometimes 2-3 times a week. Jacob is passionate about inviting people to follow Jesus by growing in our love for God and our love for all of God’s creatures, and he is excited to be the pastor of St. Matthews UMC!
